What a smoke tester does
Leaks in the intake manifold, turbo pipework, EVAP system and exhaust often produce no fault code at all, and when they do the code does not tell you where the leak is. A smoke test fills the system with colourless smoke at low pressure so the leak becomes visible. It turns hours of searching into minutes.
When to reach for it
- Rough idle and lean mixture codes such as P0171 and P0174
- Boost pressure loss and complaints of poor performance
- EVAP leak codes such as P0455 and P0442
- Fuel smell in the cabin
- Looking for a cracked exhaust manifold or weld
Diagnosis and confirmation go together

20 ml bebek yağıyla çalışır; yağ ısıtılarak renksiz duman üretilir. Cihaz 8 dakikadan uzun kesintisiz çalıştırılmaz, 75 °C üstünde ve −20 °C altında otomatik korumaya girer. Araba, motosiklet, ATV, ticari araç ve teknede kullanılır; aracın 12 V beslemesine bağlanır, harici kompresör gerekmez.
