Diagnostic and programming software decides how much of your hardware you can actually use. Oto Ideal supplies licences and certified installation for Mercedes Xentry, Renault Clip, X-Diag Pro 3 and the Katalognet technical data program.

Is the software enough on its own?

No. Diagnostic software works together with an interface that talks to the vehicle. Mercedes Xentry needs SD Connect C6; Renault Clip needs a Clip VCI or VNCI RNM. Before buying a licence, confirm that the interface you already own is supported. If you are unsure, ask and we will check it with you.

Licence, updates and duration

Some of these products come as a time-limited licence, others as a one-off version installation. With a subscription, the renewal cost matters as much as the first purchase. With a version installation, what matters is the latest model year that version supports. Coverage and duration are stated on each product page.

Installation support

Most of this software needs driver installation, certificate registration and interface pairing. A poor installation rarely stops the tool from opening — it fails halfway through a procedure instead, which is worse. That is why we handle the installation and support you through first use.

Technical data programs

A technical data program such as Katalognet is not diagnostic software. It supplies torque figures, wiring diagrams, service intervals and labour times. It is a separate resource for repairing correctly what the diagnostic tool has found, and the two are used together.
