Alientech ECM Titanium Map Editing Software

ECM Titanium is Alientech's ECU map editing software. It does not read or write — a programmer such as KESS3, Flex or AutoTuner does that. ECM Titanium finds the maps inside the raw file that programmer pulled out of the unit, makes sense of them and lets you edit. It is the link between reading and writing, and the one that actually takes skill.

What ECM Titanium Does

A file read out of an engine control unit is, at first, a meaningless pile of bytes. Inside it are dozens of tables — injection duration, boost pressure, torque limiter, EGR rate — and none of them are labelled.

That is where ECM Titanium comes in. The drivers in its database recognise the file structure of a known unit and extract the maps together with their conversion formulas. What you see on screen is not a raw number but a meaningful table with its unit: RPM, load, pressure.

It Works Independently of the Hardware

One of its least-known but most important qualities: it does not care which programmer read the file. If you have the original file, you can work on it regardless of which tool produced it.

In the manufacturer's words, the software works with any car, motorcycle, LCV, truck, tractor or marine vehicle as long as the original file is available — whether or not the ECU is supported by Alientech's other tools.

Runs From a Dongle, No Installation

ECM Titanium runs from a USB dongle. There is nothing to install: the software runs on any machine you plug the dongle into, and once drivers are cached on the dongle you can also work offline. The licence lives on the key in your hand, not on one computer.

The manufacturer's published Full entitlements: unlimited editing, 50 driver downloads per day, 5 original file downloads per day, USB key and a 12-month subscription.

How the Driver System Works

1. Load the original file read from the unit with your programmer.
2. A driver is matched from the database of more than 190,000.
3. Maps are listed with conversion formulas, sorted into categories.
4. Edit in table, 2D, 3D or hex view, comparing files to verify your change.
5. Send it back to be written with your programmer, which handles checksum correction.

What if there is no driver?

The database is wide but not infinite. If no driver matches your file, you can request custom driver creation through the manufacturer's technical support — a critical door for workshops working on new or rare units.
