Jaltest Diagnostics — Heavy Duty and Off-Highway Diagnostic System
Jaltest is the multibrand diagnostic system from the Spanish manufacturer Cojali. It is not a single tool but a system: the Jaltest Link hardware, the software modules you choose on top of it (CV, AGV, OHW, MHE, Marine), and a cable set for each module. That is why "what does Jaltest cost" has no single answer — the package is built around the vehicles you work on. This page explains how that package is put together.
In short: five vehicle segments (truck-bus-trailer, agriculture, off-highway, material handling, marine), OE-level diagnostics, Expert Mode for ECU parameter changes and DPF replacement, guided troubleshooting, wiring diagrams, maintenance data and repair times. The hardware is the Jaltest Link V9.
The System Has Three Parts

Same hardware, different software. This is the logic of Jaltest: if you only work on trucks today you start with CV; when off-highway work arrives tomorrow you do not buy another tool — you add the OHW module and its cable set to the same Link. It makes the tool a growing investment rather than a one-off purchase.
Jaltest CV: The Most Widely Used Module
CV is the most used part, because its coverage runs from the truck to the trailer. The functions the manufacturer lists:

Expert Mode
The most talked-about part of CV is Expert Mode. In it, ECU parameters can be changed, sensors and actuators calibrated, and the procedures required after a DPF replacement completed. Being able to do that outside a franchised dealer is work an independent workshop wins back.
FCA security gateway
On Fiat Chrysler light commercial vehicles, write operations are locked behind a security gateway. Jaltest CV performs SGW authentication on those vehicles; gateway unlocking is also offered as a separate module.

Why the Knorr-Bremse integration matters. On heavy duty, the brake system (EBS, ABS, ESP) is usually Knorr-Bremse, and those units are where general diagnostic tools struggle most. Running the manufacturer's own software from inside Jaltest means dealer-level capability on the brake side.

All Jaltest products are designed for workshop and roadside conditions and prepared to face extreme working and weather conditions.
Moving from V8 to V9. The V9 connector design changed. If you own cables from the previous generation, an adapter is needed to use them with the V9. Tell us what cable set you have before ordering and we will work out which adapter applies.
How the Package Is Built
- Identify the vehicle group. Truck, off-highway, tractor, forklift, vessel? It can be more than one.
- Choose the software modules. One per vehicle group; bought together they run in one interface.
- Add the cable set. Each module has its own diagnostic connectors.
- Take the hardware. The Jaltest Link V9 is shared by every module.
- Consider the additional modules. Wiring diagrams, OEM information, workshop management and technical support as needed.
- Renew the licence. The software runs on an annual licence; new models and systems arrive with updates.
Why no price on the page? Because there is no single Jaltest price: the number of modules, the cable sets, the additional modules and the licence period decide it. Tell us which vehicle groups you cover and how many users there will be, and we will send you a line-by-line quote for that configuration. Selling the wrong package serves neither of us.
