Autel MaxiIM KM100 Handheld Key Programmer
The Autel MaxiIM KM100, usually searched as Autel KM100, is a 5.5-inch handheld key and immobilizer tool. It turns Autel's blank IKEY universal smart keys into vehicle-specific keys, reads, clones and generates transponders, and learns keys and remotes over OBD through the wireless MaxiVCI V200. The kit ships with the V200 and two programmable IKEYs. There is no diagnostic menu and no EEPROM/MCU programmer; those belong to the larger IM608 Pro II.
Short answer: the KM100 generates an Autel IKEY in about a minute (more than 3,000 vehicles according to Autel), reads, clones, generates and simulates transponders, measures remote frequency and learns keys and remotes over OBD via the V200. 5.5-inch 1280×720 screen, Android 9, 4,950 mAh battery. No diagnostics and no EEPROM reading.
What does the Autel KM100 do?
Universal Key
Select the vehicle manually or by AutoVIN with the V200 plugged in, place the IKEY in the slot and generate. Autel quotes about 60 seconds per key.
Read and clone
Reads chip type, IMMO type, transponder ID, lock status and code mode; clones a working transponder or edits its data.
Generate and simulate
Generates a transponder from a blank chip, converts between ID63 and ID83, and simulates ID46, ID47, ID48, ID49, ID4A and ID8A for emergency starts.
IMMO over OBD
IMMO status scan, key learning, remote learning and remote add, plus IMMO information with VIN and PIN where the vehicle exposes it.
Special functions
IMMO data processing, used smart key renewal by cable (36 makes per Autel), IKEY info read, button customization (20 functions) and ignition coil detection.
IKEYs come in Standard (2 to 7 buttons), Premium (OE-style) and Razor (BMW-style) families, work with 315 and 433 MHz systems and, per Autel, reach up to 40 metres. The two keys in the kit are picked at random and the CR2032 battery is not included.
KM100, KM100E or KM100X?
This page is built on the MaxiIM KM100 as documented by Autel: product page, user manual and packing list. We could not find a separate Autel technical page for the KM100E or KM100X; sellers use those names for the same handheld, function list and V200 interface. Because Autel does not explain the suffixes, we do not claim a hardware difference, and we confirm the model name on the box and in the registration record before shipping.
Autel KM100 vehicle list and limits
Autel does not publish a brand list file for the KM100; coverage lives inside the tool and appears as you select a vehicle. Here is what Autel's product page, flyer and manual commit to.
| Job | KM100 | Note |
|---|---|---|
| IKEY smart key generation | 3,000+ vehicles per Autel; BMW, Hyundai, Nissan, Chrysler, Honda and GM named | The manual lists North American and European market vehicles for now. |
| Key learning over OBD | Autel claims more than 90% of models; BMW, VW, Honda and GM named | V200 plugged in, ignition on. |
| Transponder clone and generate | Yes; cloneable IDs listed on screen | Simulation limited to six IDs. |
| Used smart key renewal | 36 makes per Autel | Battery removed, cable connection per the on-screen diagram. |
| EEPROM / MCU reading | No | Autel does this with the XP400 Pro on IM508/IM608 tablets. |
| Diagnostics and service functions | No | Only the IMMO status scan and IMMO code erase. |
Does the Autel KM100 do all keys lost?
Autel's KM100 documents do not list "all keys lost" as a separate function, so the honest answer is: it depends on the car. If the vehicle allows PIN reading and key learning to an empty list over OBD, the KM100 handles it. If immobilizer data has to come from an EEPROM or MCU, the KM100 has no programmer of its own; the dump is read with another tool such as the Xhorse Multi-Prog or, on the ECU side, the OBDSTAR DC706, loaded into the KM100's IMMO Data Processing screen, and the result is written to a transponder.

| Diagnostics | No | Full diagnostics and service menu | — |
The Autel IM608 Pro II is a different class: full diagnostics, a service menu, J2534 programming and EEPROM/MCU work through the XP400 Pro sit on top of key programming. Autel's accessory pages list the XP400 Pro, APB112 emulator and IMMO adapter kit for IM508/IM608 tablets only, so the KM100 cannot be grown into an IM608 by adding a programmer; what carries over is the IKEY stock, which the IM608 Pro II can also generate. The Key Tool Max Pro is the KM100's closest rival in size; it has OBD built in and works with Xhorse's own remotes, so the choice often comes down to which blank key brand you already stock.
Who is it for?
- Locksmiths running smart key and remote replacement work on IKEY stock.
- Electrical shops that already own a scan tool, such as the Autel MS906 MAX, and want an entry point into key work.
- Mobile locksmiths: the handheld weighs 352.7 g and travels in its case with the V200.
- Not for shops that rely on EEPROM/MCU reading for all-keys-lost; look at the IM608 Pro II or a brand-licensed platform such as Abrites AVDI.
Setup and support
We connect remotely, create the Autel ID, register the tool with its serial number and password, pair the V200 over Bluetooth (one V200 pairs with one tool at a time), update the brand software and set the working market. We stay with you on the first IKEY generation and the first OBD key learning through the TeamViewer client built into the tool. Autel states its key products are designed for professional locksmiths who meet local licensing rules, and asking for proof of vehicle ownership before making a key is standard practice in this trade.
Honest note: the KM100 generates IKEYs and learns keys over OBD; it does not cover every all-keys-lost scenario. It cannot read EEPROM or MCU, has no diagnostics, and the IKEY battery is not in the box. Autel publishes no separate documents for the KM100E and KM100X names.

Frequently asked questions about the Autel MaxiIM KM100 Handheld Key Programmer
What is the difference between Autel KM100 and IM608 Pro II?
The KM100 is a 5.5-inch handheld that generates IKEYs and learns keys over OBD, with no diagnostics or EEPROM reading. The IM608 Pro II adds full diagnostics, J2534 programming and EEPROM/MCU work through the XP400 Pro.
Can the Autel KM100 do all keys lost?
It depends on the vehicle. Where PIN reading and key learning work over OBD it can; where immobilizer data must be read from an EEPROM or MCU, the dump has to come from another tool and is then processed on the KM100.
What is the difference between KM100, KM100E and KM100X?
Autel's technical documents cover the KM100; we found no separate Autel page for the KM100E or KM100X, which sellers use for the same handheld and V200 interface.
What comes in the Autel KM100 box?
The KM100, MaxiVCI V200, power adapter, Type-C cable, two IKEYs, a custom mini USB cable, a USB-C to USB-C cable, quick guide, packing list and carrying case; the IKEY battery is not included.
How is the Autel KM100 updated?
The tool must be registered to an Autel ID with its serial number and password. Once online it looks for updates itself, and brand software can be installed all at once or one by one; we do the registration and first update with you remotely.
